Description:
Safer Van for sale. This van could work for someone not super chemically sensitive as it has been lived in and used minimally during its time. It - and everything in the van - is 7 years old and the owners were primarily fragrance free in their detergent and daily lifestyle and shoeless in the living part of the van.
It is a 2016 Ram Promaster van with automatic transmission and runs on diesel fuel. It's a 2WD with a 26 mpg highway fuel efficiency rating. Seats 4 and sleeps 4.
The walls are foam and a type of fabric cover. The roof liner also has some foam underneath and is more of a felt type of material. The wood is untreated/unsealed plywood - which could be sealed with a safe sealant - and the cabinets are prefabricated with a laminate as the surface and sealant. The floor is a vinyl product.
The "floor" of the poptop could be removed both for better height/standing room and to minimize some of the foam/fabric. Use of the space in the poptop is limited to when the van is stationary and requires some agility to get up there - it won't be usable for someone with mobility issues or physical or strength limitations.
There is a small refrigerator and freezer and a 'tabletop' and a sink with a retractable sprayer. The stove the owners have used is a propane camp stove.
There is 110 electricity which could be used for an air filter and/or space heater. The current heater is diesel, but vents to the outside, and has not been used much. There is no smell of diesel in the van. This could be removed if unwanted.
The passenger seat behind the driver seat can be removed and a compost toilet could be placed there, or anything else that was wanted. The foam mattress and cover could be replaced with tolerated materials for the bed.
The vehicle has had regular oil changes and no other maintenance has been needed due to the low mileage (48,629 miles). It will need new tires sometime soon. It does require the addition of DEF once every 500 miles or so when adding diesel. This is commonly found alongside the diesel pumps at trucker stops, not at regular gas stations.
The dashboard received an application of Armorall two weeks ago and this would need to be outgassed. The windows are being left open to air out the scent.
There is a battery under the bed and solar panels on the roof that help charge the battery. There is an easily accessible fuse that could be turned off to disable any current whenever the battery is not needed. Please see the original listing (link in contact info area below) for additional details, photos, and to contact the seller with any questions or concerns. They are very sensitive and caring to issues around chemical sensitivity and will be available for problem solving and of course for any info that you may need to make a decision.
