Description:
Two camping spots in Southern Arizona
On 16+ acres surrounded on 3 sides by The Nature Conservancy Land in a rural valley with no cell phone service. No chemicals have been used since the previous owner arrived (2014+). Phone and internet available at a fee for those wishing to set it up. There are two sites: one has a ramada providing shade, electric and water; the other has a sewer hookup and an electric meter (currently turned off) but no well. On patio by main house, is an outdoor kitchen with sink, grill, steel counters, and a 3-burner gas stove. RVs, tents, living in car are fine.
We are a 30 minute drive from Benson where there is a Safeway, Walmart's, hospital, and other services. Tucson is another 40-60 minutes.
The land is a former pasture and mesquite bosque. Weather is typical southern Arizona with cold nights and warm afternoons; usually 5-10 degrees cooler than Tucson; abundant shade makes it tolerable in summer.
We are looking for people who want a place to stay long-term, minimum 6 months. Singles, couples, and families are okay. You must be fragrance free, smoke free, and mold free. There are no rental fees except utilities. This is a work trade; you should be willing to help out with property maintenance, care of chem-free [organic but not certified] garden and contribute what you can depending on your capabilities, 6 hours/week. We share this land with seven cats and will want you to cat-sit when we go away. If you are interested in sustainable agriculture and want to raise livestock, we have two fenced areas suitable for chickens, sheep or goats.
Need a trial period to test out how you feel in this area? Contact Janis for more information and for more photos of the land.
